Ground Rules - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 09/30/2025

  • Description: Having a shared interest in this project and in working with each other, we wanted to define a set of ground rules that would ensure a safe working environment for our team members to prevent any bitterness towards each other. This has shaped the way we work with each other and allowed us to put more trust in the collective team.

  • Deliverable: Ground Rules

Schedule Team Event - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/07/2025

  • Description: From the start, we knew we wanted to meet twice a week – once after class and once again to update each other on progress and confirm completion before submission. After using a scheduling platform, Timeful, and in-person coordination/compromise, we were able to confirm full team weekly meetings on Friday evenings at 5:30 PM. These meetings will not surpass 1.5 hrs.

  • Deliverable: Junior Project Meeting Notes

Competitor Analysis - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/10/2025

  • Description: To help the team get started on brainstorming and synthesizing ideas, we turned to existing concepts by analyzing similar products and noting down features that stood out to us. This enabled us to get a good grasp of what has been done in the market and what else is physically possible for our product.

  • Deliverable: Competitor Analysis

Project Pitch - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/14/2025

  • Description: As a team, we came together to design and consolidate our ideas for a project pitch for the class. This was an overview of the project, as well as our teammates' first time discussing our individual visions for this project. In this pitch, we defined the problem, formulated the concept, broke down the roles in our team, introduced our teammates, identified our target audience, narrowed down a success criterion, established necessary technology, weighed the risks and assumptions, and constructed a Gantt chart that will act as a guide for our soft deliverables.

  • Deliverable: Project Pitch

Setting Up Teams Organization - Fei

  • Due Date: 10/20/2025

  • Description: Set up Teams with dedicated channels to Research, Development, Design, and Content, with a space for important announcements and a general feed. Teams has a Wiki system for each channel that includes all of the links compiled into one spot for easy access. We also created a naming system with “FAH-name”. All photos and files have been compressed, renamed, and placed into their respective folders.

  • Deliverable:

Placeholder Images Added to Assets - Fei

  • Due Date: 10/20/2025

  • Description: We collected placeholder images for the hero, user profile, and general square and rectangle images. These images have been compressed, renamed, and placed into the Assets folder.

  • Deliverable:

GitHub Repository - Reuben

  • Due Date: 10/20/2025

  • Description: We set up our GitHub repository early to prepare for uploading files and folders as we receive more input from the design team. This helps us stay organized and maintain development progress in sync with their updates.

  • Deliverable: GitHub Repository

GitHub File Structure Organization - Reuben

  • Due Date: 10/20/2025

  • Description: We uploaded the content received from the IX Architect team to GitHub and plan to continue following their file naming structure to maintain consistency across both the repository and Microsoft Teams.

  • Deliverable: GitHub Repository

Revised Project Pitch - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/21/2025

  • Description: Following the first presentation of our pitch, we recognized and took action on necessary edits, primarily to the Gantt chart. In this process, we dove deeper into each role, specifically the development team. To appropriately prepare the team for a more balanced timeline, the development team was assigned to set up our various development-based platforms and to research the possibility of API integration.

  • Deliverable: Project Pitch - Revised

Affinity Map - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/21/2025

  • Description: Our team conducted an affinity mapping exercise to consolidate ideas and organize large amounts of qualitative data into clusters based on natural relationships, helping us synthesize research findings and identify patterns. From the findings from our affinity mapping exercise, we identified the following as key features to assess during the NUF Analysis exercise: automated portioning, reminder of duplicate purchases, notification of expiry, image identification of foods, shopping list, streak system, budget generation, food expiry calendar, visualization of spending data (graphics), spending overview (weekly/monthly), motivating UI, unprompted cooking tips, fun mascot, system comparison of cost of eating out vs average home cooked meal, image recognize food for easy onboarding, food categorization, recipe suggestions, and budget setting. In the process of combing through each feature, our team was able to clarify and define each feature to ensure that we were all on the same page.

  • Deliverable: Affinity Map

Personas - Sreeja, Fei

  • Due Date: 10/21/2025

  • Description: Thinking about our problem and goals, we created 3 personas that reflected our target audience. We created the personas Rose Minervini, Michelle Liang, and Aiden Samuel. They encompass our target audience of 18-26 year olds, and help us figure out exactly who to design for.

  • Deliverable: User Personas

Color Palette - Yen, Fei, Maria

  • Due Date: 10/24/2025

  • Description: On 10/24, there was an all-hands meeting, and our team finalized the full color palette for our project’s branding, including primary, secondary, and neutral tones. The selected colors were chosen to represent our brand’s personality while ensuring accessibility, contrast balance, and visual consistency across all components

  • Deliverable:

Gantt Chart - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/24/2025

  • Description: Although Reuben and Yi Huan had a solid Gantt chart for reference to start the project, we wanted input from each team to ensure appropriate timeframes. As a collective, our team took an additional week to adjust the Gantt chart once more, adding notes and comments to provide more clarity and to ensure each task had an appropriate deadline. We also color-coded the Gantt chart by team for better visualization.

  • Deliverable: Gantt Chart

NUF Analysis - All Team Members

  • Due Date: 10/24/2025

  • Description: Even in the process of setting up the NUF Analysis, new features like using badges to gamify budgeting, price comparison between vendors, and socializing features like fridge communities sprouted through discussion. From this activity, we identified five core features we hope to integrate into our product: shopping list, automated portioning, reminder of duplicate purchases, motivating UI, and unprompted cooking tips.

  • Deliverable: NUF Analysis

Framer Banner - Yi Huan

  • Due Date: 10/26/2025

  • Description: This was the first piece of branding to be published. I used citrus fruits in the banner to speak to our food-based platform, and bright colors from our branding kit to build our brand personality. I designed a right-aligned graphic as well as a centered graphic to allow room for flexibility.

  • Deliverable:

APIs Research - Maria

  • Due Date: 10/26/2025

  • Description: We researched the APIs needed for our project to function, organizing them by their specific capabilities. From there, we chose one based on its cost, the type of data scraping it supported, and how effectively it could integrate with Supabase.

  • Deliverable: APIs Research

Framer Setup - Reuben, Maria

  • Due Date: 10/26/2025

  • Description: We began setting up the Framer website using the provided instructions, then customized it to align with our team’s branding. Each team shared their completed tasks, which we then integrated into the CMS items to display as a status post.

  • Deliverable: Cronch Framer Website

Sketches - Yen, Fei, Maria

  • Due Date: 10/27/2025

  • Description: Using the insights gathered from the NUF analysis, the design team began sketching initial concepts for the app’s core features. These sketches explore layout structures, key interactions, and visual hierarchies to translate research findings into early design ideas. The goal is to establish a foundation for the upcoming wireframe phase

  • Deliverable:

Google Drive Folder System - Fei, Yi Huan

  • Due Date: 10/27/2025

  • Due Date: 10/28/2025

  • Description: Utilizing our personas, we created journey maps encompassing the specific journey each of our personas would have. We each picked a persona to map out, and went through the steps, experiences, pain-points, emotions, and opportunities of each. These will guide our choices in design screens, to better suit the user and their journey using our app.

  • Deliverable:

  • Due Date: 10/31/2025

  • Description: Jira is a project management tool with features like reports, charts, and dashboards to help visualize tasks and processes in one place. All team members are currently in the Jira team, though there are no dashboards or charts set up yet.

  • Deliverable:

  • Deliverable: Wireframes

Typography - Yen, Maria, Fei

  • Due Date: 10/31/2025

  • Description: Maria suggested two typography options for our project’s visual identity, each with distinct styles that influence the overall tone of our design. During our upcoming Tuesday all-hands meeting, the team will evaluate both options together, considering factors such as readability, brand personality, and consistency with our existing color palette and layout direction. Finalizing the typography this week will allow us to move forward with creating consistent headers, body text, and UI elements in our next design iterations

Interview Script - Sreeja, Fei, Yi Huan

  • Due Date: 11/07/2025

  • Description: We will work on creating an interview script for our user testing sessions, making sure the questions go through the user’s personal journey and offer more insight into how our app can best serve them.
